Gui Finkler will leave Melbourne Victory and join fellow A-League side Wellington Phoenix ahead of next season.
Melbourne Victory midfielder Gui Finkler has signed for Wellington Phoenix and will join Ernie Merrick’s men in the end of your season within a massive coup for the Kiwi outfit.
Finkler has played 89 A-League games and scored 20 ambitions more than the previous 4 seasons for Victory.
The Brazilian’s departure was confirmed within a statement from Victory on Thursday, with his contract set to expire at season’s finish.
“Gui has produced the choice to take up a brand new opportunity at a distinctive club, and that’s the nature from the industry we’re in,” Victory coach Kevin Muscat mentioned.
“Gui has been a strong contributor to Melbourne Victory more than quite a few years. We thank him for his service to Melbourne Victory and want him nicely for the future.”
It was no secret that Muscat’s selection to leave Finkler out with the club’s 2016 AFC Champions League squad was a huge blow for the Brazilian.
“It was definitely a tough selection for me to leave such a fantastic club like Melbourne Victory,” Finkler mentioned.
“I choose to thank everyone at the club and the fans for their support during the last 4 seasons. I am incredibly thankful for all the memories I’ve designed at Victory.
“I am committed to contributing as ideal as I can to the group for the rest on the season.”
